A. adjective. Of or pertaining to Bengal, a former Indian province, now constituting Bangladesh and the Indian State of West Bengal, its people, or their language. L18.
b. noun. A native or inhabitant of Bengal, or of Bangladesh or West Bengal; the Indo-Aryan language of Bengal, the national language of Bangladesh and the official language of West Bengal. E19.
