1. Huygens' principle, a principle of wave propagation, that each point on a wave front can be regarded as a source of new waves, the overall effect of which constitutes the propagation of the wave front. M19.
2. Huygens construction, Huygens' construction, the geometrical construction for finding the position of a wave front using Huygens' principle. M19.
3. Huygens eyepiece, Huygens' eyepiece, a negative eyepiece of an optical instrument, consisting of two planoconvex lenses with their plane side towards the observer. (Earlier called Huygenian eyepiece.) E20.
