Archaeology. (Designating or characterized by) a technique of working flint or other rocks, developed in the lower and middle palaeolithic periods, in which a block is trimmed so that a flake of predetermined size and shape can be struck from it.
Levall'oisian adjective designating, pertaining to, or characterized by this technique; pertaining to or characteristic of such a culture: M20.
