The conservative political philosophy and methods advocated by the French publisher and bookseller Pierre Poujade (b. 1920), who in 1954 founded a movement for the protection of artisans and small shopkeepers, protesting chiefly against the French tax system then in force. Also, any organized protection of the interests of small business.
