A. adjective. Of or pertaining to Voltaire; resembling Voltaire, esp. in a mocking and sceptical attitude characteristic of his opinions and views. L18.
b. noun. A follower or adherent of Voltaire in respect of opinions or the manner of expressing them; a person whose views on social and religious questions are characterized by a critical and mocking scepticism. M19.
