Scott, Sir Walter (oh)
(1771-1832) a Scottish writer and poet who was one of the most popular British writers of the 19th century. He wrote many historical novels based on Scottish history, such as Rob Roy, and on old English stories, such as Ivanhoe . One of his best known poems is The Lady of the Lake.
