b. Pierce with a cylindrical cavity; hollow out (a gun barrel, tube, etc.). M18.
verb intrans. Make a hole or perforation (in, into, through); sink a borehole. ME.
verb trans. Make (a hole, tunnel, one's way, etc.) by boring, excavation, pressure, etc. E16.
