A thing fitted to contain something else; a box, receptacle, bag, sheath, etc.; a glass box for displaying specimens, curiosities, etc. LME.

The outer protective or covering part of a natural or manufactured object, as a seed-vessel, chrysalis, sausage, watch, book, etc. LME.
