A. noun. Any hemipteran insect of the suborder Homoptera of chiefly plant-sucking bugs with wings of uniform texture, including aphids, scale insects, cicadas, etc. Cf. HETEROPTERAN. M19.
b. adjective. Of, pertaining to, or characteristic of the suborder Homoptera. E20.
