A. noun. A thing kept or given to be kept for the sake of, or in remembrance of, the giver; spec. (Hist.) a literary annual consisting of collections of verse, prose, and illustrations, of a type common in the early part of the 19th cent. L18.
b. adjective. Constituting or resembling a keepsake; spec. (arch.) having the inane prettiness of faces in keepsakes or the affected literary style of such books. M19.
