Math. The power to which a fixed number or base must be raised in order to produce any given number; any of a series of such exponents tabulated as a means of simplifying computation by making it possible to replace multiplication and division of numbers by addition and subtraction of their corresponding exponents; spec. (more fully common logarithm) a logarithm to the base 10.
Napierian logarithm, natural logarithm a logarithm to the base e (2.71828...).
