marjoram noun. LME.

Any of various labiate plants of the genus Origanum, aromatic herbs much used in cooking; esp. O. vulgare (more fully wild marjoram), native on chalk and limestone and the source of oregano, and the less pungent O. majorana (more fully sweet marjoram, knotted marjoram), and O. onites (more fully pot marjoram). Also, the leaves of such a plant as used to flavour meat dishes etc.
