Sanctify beforehand. Chiefly in Liturgy of the Presanctified, Mass of the Presanctified [translation of medieval Latin missa praesanctificatorum], a form of the Eucharist at which elements consecrated at a previous celebration are consumed, used in the Roman Catholic and Anglican Churches on Good Friday and in the Orthodox Church during Lent.
