Consisting or of the nature of rheum. LME-L17.
Of a disease, symptom, etc.: orig., characterized by rheumy or catarrhal discharges; now, pertaining to, of the nature of, or characteristic of rheumatism. LME.
rheumatic fever an acute fever, chiefly of young people, caused by a streptococcal infection and marked by acute inflammation and pain of the joints.
