Chemistry. Measure the amount of a constituent in (a solution) by slowly adding measured volumes of a suitable specific reagent of known concentration, until the point is reached at which a reaction just begins or ceases to occur (often marked by a change in colour of a reagent or of an added indicator). Also (Medicine), continuously measure and adjust the balance of (physiological functions or drug dosages).
