A. adjective. Of or pertaining to the wrist or carpus. M18.
carpal tunnel a passage between the carpal bones and adjacent ligaments, through which pass the median nerve and the flexor tendons of the hand; carpal tunnel syndrome, a condition of numbness, pain, or tingling in the hand caused by compression of the median nerve within the carpal tunnel at the wrist, esp. as the result of repetitive movements.
