Dutch painter.

Little is known of his career. His name means "Little Gerard of the Brethren of St. John," after the religious order in Haarlem of which he was a lay brother. His only documented work, the large triptych The Crucifixion, was painted for the Brethren's monastery. Paintings attributed to him include a luminous nocturnal Nativity and St. John the Baptist in the Wilderness.
