An incision made transversely, and through the external sheath of the recti muscles, about an inch above the pubes, the muscles being split or separated in the direction of their fibres.

deep palmar (arterial) arch


The arterial arch located deep to the long flexor tendons in the hand. It is formed by the terminal part of the radial artery in conjunction with the deep palmar branch of the ulnar artery. The arch gives rise to palmar metacarpal and princeps pollicis arteries.

Synonym: arcus palmaris profundus, arcus volaris profundus.
