complement chemotactic factor (medicine)

complement chemotactic factor

The activated complex of the fifth, sixth, and seventh components of complement (C567) which induces chemotaxis in the case of polymorphonuclear leukocytes.

cro protein (medicine)

cro protein
<protein> Protein synthesised by bacteriophage lambda in the lytic state. The cro protein blocks the synthesis of the lambda repressor (that is produced in the lysogenic stage and inhibits cro protein synthesis). Production of the cro protein in turn controls a set of genes associated with rapid virus multiplication.
