<chemical> The pentahydrate sulfate salt of copper. It is a powerful emetic and used orally as an antidote to phosphorus poisoning. Topical application of a 1 per cent solution is used in the treatment of phosphorus burns of the skin. It is also used as a catalyst with iron in the treatment of iron-deficiency anaemia. In 1:1,000,000 concentration it is used to prevent growth of algae in ponds, reservoirs, and swimming pools.

Cranberry-Barbecue Chicken Wings (recipes)




Cook Time: 4 to 5 hours

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Yield: Makes about 16 appetizer servings or 4 main dish servings



Ingredients:



3pounds chicken wings

Salt and black pepper

1jar (12 ounces) cranberry-orange relish

1/2cup barbecue sauce

2tablespoons quick-Cooking tapioca

1tablespoon prepared mustard

Hot cooked rice (optional)









Preparation:





1.Preheat broiler. Cut off chicken wing tips; discard. Cut each wing in half at joint. Place chicken on rack in broiler pan; season with salt and pepper. Broil 4 to 5 inches from heat for 10 to 12 minutes or until browned, turning once. Transfer chicken to slow cooker. 2.Stir together relish, barbecue sauce, tapioca and mustard in small bowl. Pour over chicken. Cover; cook on LOW 4 to 5 hours. Serve with rice.
