Paper, parchment, etc., prepared for Writing on and wiping out, like a slate. M17-E18.
A paper, parchment, etc., on which the original Writing has been effaced to make way for Other Writing; a manuscript in which a later Writing is written over an effaced earlier Writing. E19.
