ciguatera
<microbiology> A form of fish poisoning that results from eating reef fish which are normally nontoxic. Thought to be secondary to a toxic substances which accumulates in the tissues of certain fish at a particularly time of the year.

Symptoms include: tingling around the lips, nausea, vomiting, weakness and numbness. Occurs shortly after eating tainted fish.
