<chemical> 2-(((3 alpha, 5 beta,12 alpha)-3,12-dihydro-24-oxocholan-24-yl)amino)ethanesulfonic acid. A bile salt formed in the liver by conjugation of deoxycholate with taurine, usually as the sodium salt. It is used as a cholagogue and choleretic, also industrially as a fat emulsifier.

Pharmacological action: cholagogues and choleretics, excipient.

Peanut Clusters (recipes)


Peanut Clusters

(makes 2 dozen)



Ingredients

1 cup sugar

1/3 evaporated milk

1/4 cup butter

1/4 cup peanut butter

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

2 cups quick Cooking oats

1/2 cup Spanish peanuts

1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips



Directions

Line cookie sheet with waxed paper. Mix sugar, milk, and butter in 2 quart microwavable bowl. Microwave uncovered on high for 2 to 3 minutes or until boiling. Stir peanuts and vanilla until blended. Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop by tablespoons onto cookie sheet. Refrigerate about 30 minutes or until firm.
