Mergui Archipelago (sh)




Group of more than 200 islands in the Andaman Sea off the coast of southeastern Myanmar.

The largest island is Mali Kyun (Tavoy Island) at its northern end. Other major islands in the group include Kadan (King), Thayawthadangyi (Elphinstone), Daung (Ross), Saganthit (Sellore), Bentinck, Letsok-aw (Domel), Kanmaw (Kisseraing), Lanbi (Sullivan's), and Zadetkyi (St. Matthew's). Mountainous and jungle-covered, the islands are inhabited chiefly by the Selungs.
