Fluffy Cottontails

Yield: Makes 2-1/2 dozen cookies



Ingredients:



Miniature marshmallows

3/4cup sugar

1/2cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened

1/2cup shortening

1teaspoon vanilla

2cups all-purpose flour

2/3cup malted milk powder

1/4teaspoon salt

Malted milk balls

Assorted colored decorating icings









Preparation:





1.Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease cookie sheets. Beat sugar, butter, shortening and vanilla in large bowl. Add flour, malted milk powder and salt until well blended.2.For bunny bodies, shape heaping teaspoonfuls of dough around malted milk balls. For bunny heads, shape scant teaspoonfuls of dough into balls. For each bunny, press body and head together on prepared cookie sheets. Shape 1/2 teaspoon of dough into 2 ears; press gently into head.3.Bake 8 minutes or until lightly browned. Let cookies cool 1 minute on cookie sheets. Remove to wire racks to cool completely.4.Decorate cookies with icings as desired. Cut marshmallows in half; immediately place marshmallow halves on cookies to resemble bunny tails. Let cookies stand until icing is set.
