2 teaspoons salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper

2 tablespoons butter, melted

1 recipe of your favorite stuffing

Directions

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Remove giblets and neck from the turkey. Rinse turkey inside and out with cold running water; drain well and pat dry with paper towel. Rub neck and body cavities with salt and pepper. Stuff bird loosely.

Place turkey in roasting pan; brush with butter and tent loosely with foil. Roast until the meatiest part of the turkey reaches 180 degrees with a meat thermometer. About 30 minutes before the turkey is done, remove the foil. At this point, baste very well with pan drippings. When the turkey is done roasting, remove from pan and let rest for 15 to 30 minutes before serving.
